The rotating band is solid Brass and needs some time to reach the correct patina. to get a shiny patina It's best to keep wiping it for a week or so without trying to take out the color. This is truly an artisan all handmade ring. every ring is unique with a nice solid feel and weight, very masculine and very charming with blemishes and imperfections that give this ring a character it will grow on you, but if you are looking for a machine made mass produced item, this ring is not for you
